An der Frauenkirche 16/17, Dresden
At home in Saxony! Loveably Saxon & Typically Bavarian Under this motto we welcome you daily from 10 am in one of the reconstructed baroque town houses on Neumarkt square in Dresden. Augustiner an der Frauenkirche has space over its three storeys in various lounges that can also be rented out separately. In addition there is room in the outdoor area, an open invitation to experience the pulsating life of one of Europe's most unique cities with a direct view of the Frauenkirche church. Friends of our Augustiner beer can choose between five different beer types, all of which are dispensed fresh from the barrel apart from the wheat beer which is bottled. Accompanying your beer you can enjoy the corresponding seasonally selected Bavarian/Saxon cuisine.
Pleasant atmosphere, good food, good drinks, friendly staff
Very friendly service, great food, it was great fun to be there. We were glad that we chose the restaurant. Prices are completely ok and it tastes really delicious. The hygiene regulations have all been implemented. There was a lot of space to the neighbor. I found the solution with the plastic partitions very successful - also optically. Everyone wore masks when they went in and out.
I would rather buy McDonalds than come back here. The food was blant and service was nothing special.
Distance rules are not observed, the tables are too close to each other and there is no ventilation. The masks are sometimes not worn correctly by employees and guests are tolerated if the masks are not worn at all. 40 minutes waiting time until the food was there, the bill came only after a second request, as the first waitress probably forgot. The pub snack was good, the schnitzel unfortunately disappointing.
Pleasant ambience, friendly and rustic.
Food was ok. Prices a bit expensive. For a pretzel € 1.50 that isn't even freshly baked, it's a lot. Unfortunately, you had to wait a long time for food.
Long wait in front of the door. There were 5 to 7 people. Nobody was received or asked by the passing employees. One was ignored. Then left after 15 minutes. Bad service and rude
Great Service, great food, excellent beers (not necessarily in the order ?)
Food is ok, nothing special. The location is nice, because of the view. The service is really the worst thing I have ever experienced. Asking for warm water for my baby, they just forgot and had to ask several times about it, and I got nothing. They felt insulted because I didn’t leave a tip. Well...
Excellent Food, friendly staff
You look forward to drinks and food and then the fire brigade comes ... Unfortunately, that was my experience. But the staff were professional and very friendly to ask the guests from the area.
Great shop in the middle of the Frauenkirche. You sit in a beautiful beer garden and watch what is happening. Reservations are a real asset. Everything is fully booked on Saturday afternoon. The food was great. From Leberkäs to pork specialties and cheese spaetzle, everything is delicious. The beer is great too and the service terrific!
Very tasty Bavarian cuisine. Price performance good. The service is very friendly and you get competent answers to questions, whether for a meal or a beer. We recommend
One thing I love about Augustiner is the consistency. We have eaten at the München and Berlin locations enjoying the traditional food every time. The service is great, always friendly, and Dresden was a fun experience. For lunch I had the käsespatzle and a beer while enjoying the outside seating. Loved it!
We ate very well, the beer was excellent, the service very quick and professional, the restaurant very nice and comfortably furnished (also on the upper floor). The location is fantastic and the prices cheap. I can recommend the restaurant unreservedly.
Bavarian surrounded by the flair of the Frauenkirche in Dresden. Super good kitchen. Friendly, happy service. Deserves all the stars. Ps .: All hygiene requirements are exemplary. Even in the toilet area everything is very clean. The restaurant deserves the highest recognition for this
Friendly staff that quickly and competently make the evening better. In addition, large portions that also tasted very good. What more do you want. A popular option the next time you visit Dresden
My wife and I were there that evening and we were absolutely thrilled! Super friendly staff and the food was also good, we only noticed one little thing. But only because I'm a cook too. The bread dumplings had been in the water for a while, but unfortunately it was already a bit watery. Otherwise the knuckle is really very good as you can see in the picture. So we'll definitely be back. Thanks for that.....
Nice traditional styled pub. Good beer and would recommend the schitzel
Good food, good beer and good service.
Good German restaurant, the dishes were quite good that together with the beer they made a perfect meal. The service was attentive and the atmosphere pleasant. We tested by google references and got it right. Without a doubt, if we are in the city we will repeat. For the knuckle you can order half or whole, I recommend the whole (€ 19) because half is too small. I share some photos of the dishes and the place.
Traditional German (Bavarian) cuisine in the beautiful square. We stayed two consecutive nights, excellent.
One of my favourite beers.
Great location, delicious food. If the weather is nice, you should call ahead and reserve a nice table outside. Staff is super friendly and traditionally dressed in Bavarian. The Hackepeter or snack plate is highly recommended. Gladly again and again.
Delicious and friendly. We had not pre-ordered (three of us) ... but the nice waitress searched until she found a nice table.
Terrible experience. Very rude and unprofessional personal. I think that some of the waitresses will be better off working in a farm or field or any other place which requires low level of social skills and interactions. Very disappointed. Definitely a no-go.
Fine Bavarian dining in the heart of Dresden
So so
Awesome traditional German food and delicious Bavarian beers, very relaxed atmosphere. Outstanding waitresses
Real German experience
Good food and beer !
Good food,Service, friendly staff.
Nice beer and German cusine, best harmony^^
Good German food. Great atmosphere
Pretty classic tourist trap restaurant. The food is... okay. The service is brisk and reasonable friendly. The menus are bilingual in English and German, and filled with mediocre versions of traditional German dishes. If you're in desperate need of käsespätzle, it's on the menu, but if there's a wait or you need reservations, find somewhere else.
Great food! And they have germknodle
Typical German restaurant, specialized in Bavarian cuisine. Food was really good the same applies to beer. The only complain is that we had to wait tong time between ordering and getting the food. However the quality of food was worth of waiting.

Very good food and service.
Great for a break from the city tour. Cozy Bavarian / Austrian atmosphere with slightly higher prices. But the big portions make up for it. The food tasted good. There are many different beers and wines. The toilets in the basement are clean. For the evening should be reserved.
Very busy and crowded atmosphere during dinner time. wouldn't recommend for relaxed conversation over dinner. I'm not sure about the service. Good food, a large portion for 1, good beer. The location already explains it is a very touristy German cuisine restaurant.
I really enjoyed crispy Haxen with beer! Sausages were so good!
Excellent Food

Very tasty food. There is a choice of what is typically considered to be German food, with particular emphasis on Bavarian dishes. The ambience is amazing, especially on a work day evening when there's not many people around. The staff is very friendly and speaks excellent English.
If you are alone, never go there. You probably have to wait at least 30 minutes, but most terrible thing is that you never take your seat for foods.
Great food & beer plus very friendly staff
Delicious traditional German cuisine. Really friendly staff
Good atmosphere, nice beers, relatively cheap. Jana was a legend and helped us with translating everything and giving us tips on what to do in Dresden. Definitely Recommend a visit
I like the food here, service staff some are very nice some just a bit cold, I saw lot of local dining here. I will come here again if I am around this area
